SONOMA COAST WINEMAKER DINNER AT DIAVOLA PIZZERIA & SALUMERIA, GEYSERVILLE

Join us for an evening of beautiful Sonoma Coast Wines paired with a 4-course

dinner curated by chef dino Dino Bugica of diavola pizzeria & salumeria

brick & mortar creates small-lot, single-vineyard, and food-friendly wines inspired by Europe yet deeply rooted in California. They highlight each vineyard with minimal intervention and an authentic spirit that we love.

An Old Burgundy Domaine of rustic elegant and award-winning wines, Freeman Winery is surrounded by the enigmatic redwood groves that the Sonoma Coast AVA is known for.

A family-owned boutique wine producer, Smith Story Wines, is husband and wife Eric Story and Alison Smith-Story. Together, they select regions that are special to them—sharing their story with respect for what the land offers and delivering beautiful expressions of each varietal in the glass.

DURING THIS EVENING, GUESTS WILL ENJOY CONVERSATION WITH:

Chef Dino Bugica of Diavola Pizzeria & Salumeria

HEALDSBURG ROTARY CLUB’s FIGHT TO END POLIO

The Rotary Club of Healdsburg is once again conducting Green Hair Day on St. Patrick’s Day to launch the Polio Plus donation campaign to help eradicate polio worldwide.  Last year our club was able to raise approximately $40,000 for Polio Plus to which the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation added $80,000 in matching grant funds.  We are aiming to do even better this year.

Rotary International started the Polio Plus program in 1985 and in 1988, spearheaded the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) along with the World Health Organization (WHO).  Subsequently, CDC, UNICEF, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (GAVI) joined the GPEI.  Although the Polio Plus program primarily funds efforts to eradicate polio, it also funds other health needs such as Covid 19 response activities in areas where polio vaccination campaigns are being waged.

Each year we get closer to eradicating polio from the world.  Last year only five cases of wild polio were detected, four in Afghanistan and one in Pakistan.  However, the recent emergence of vaccine-related polio cases has added a new challenge to global polio eradication.  A new vaccine is now being used in an attempt to eradicate vaccine-related cases.
